German expatriate infect Malawi maid with sexual disease

There are revelations that Mulanje-based German expatriate Peter Hans Negele did not only abuse the teenage maids he has been employing but also sexually abusing them and infected them with diseases, according to Friday's Weekend Times.

One of the girls, 18-year-old Annie Sadzola, who had worked for Negele from 2010 to this year, told of how after a month of having unprotected sex with her boss, she started discharging awful vagina fluids and experienced some pain every time she wanted to urinate.

The girl, who lives in Lolo village outside Luchenza in Thyolo district, produced her health passport, which showed August 12 of last year as the day on which a clinician at Mulanje District Hospital diagnosed and subsequently treated her for a twin infection of syphilis and gonorrhoea.

"As you can see, this was almost a month later since my arrival at Negele's house and before that and ever since I started having sex, I had never been infected with such shameful infection so I innocently opted for the hospital only to be surprised when the clinician told me that it was a twin sexually transmitted infection," she said.

With the help of Sadzola, the Weekend Times reporter also visited another 10-year old girl who is currently living at Muloza border town who also claimed that around the same time, Negele infected her with STI. While she pleaded for her name to be concealed, the girl, however, admitted that Negele had twice infected her.

She said that at that time, there were girls that were employed by Negele and he infected me with syphilis which eventually got cured at the hospital. Three months later, he infected her for the second time with both syphilis and gonorrhoea.

Against claims that he got sterilized some 30 years ago, both girls admitted to have once been impregnated by Negele and that they had their pregnancies terminated after he forced them to do so. After several efforts to hear his side of the story, Negele kept on dodging an interview before cutting the line, accusing the tabloid of publishing confidential information.

"Aaah! Now you make me angry because I tell you about my secrets and then you wrote a story and published it," Negele is quoted to have said.

Meanwhile, at the request of the District Commissioner for Mulanje, Jack Ngulube, the district child protection committees in collaboration with government departments of labour, social welfare and immigration have obtained a search warrant at the local magistrate's court to have Negele's premises thoroughly searched over his labour abuse and residential permit.

In August this year, Negele had admitted to the paper about his sex sessions with teenage girls that he would pay them K10, 000 per month if they did routine domestic chores and pay them K20, 000 if they made him happy in bed.
