Renowned gospel artist Ruth Missi-Thindwa beat up one of her employees, confiscated property and money because she suspected the girl was going out with her husband.
Until she met her fate, the girl identified as Mary Kamera , was employed by the gospel artist as a waitress at the artists 'Friends Restaurant' located in the Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre.
According to Weekend Times the incident happened on August 30 in the morning at Manase, Blantyre.
The artist received numerous reports that her husband was going out with a beautiful girl who works at her restaurant and that he had bought her expensive appliances in the course of the relationship.
However, before investigations to establish the truth, the gospel artist livid and consumed by jealousy, immediately called the waitress the same night she heard the rumours ordering her to report for duties the following day.
The following day, in the company of hired man and her aunt, Missi invaded the waitress' house where she beat her up and confiscated a TV screen, phone, DVD player and undisclosed amount of money, claiming the property is hers since it was her husband who bought it.
The waitress reported the matter to Blantyre Police the same day who issued her with a police report to seek medical attention as she sustained some injuries.
While some police officers denied the matter was reported, others admitted the matter indeed reported at the Victims Support Unit, adding the matter was resolved since Misi returned all the property she confiscated from the waitress.
In fact other officers confirmed that after the altercation, Misi feared the waitress would come for reprisals and decided to hire police officers from Soche Police to guard her restaurant.
Misi denied the allegation saying nothing happened and also denied she runs the restaurant.
But Mary confirmed the incident and said the matter had been resolved because all her property had been returned and refused to make any further comment.
