Malawi needs ‘spiritual cleansing’, says Apostle Khoviwa

Malawi is going through unprecedented challenges that could only be resolved by divine intervention, leader and founder of Word of Faith Temple has said.

Apostle Timothy Khoviwa told Nyasa Times in interview the entire nation has to go through what he called "spiritual cleansing" if it is to be delivered from evil.

"We have a lot of problems that Malawi as a country is facing but from my point of view the only way to get out of these problems is not by exchanging bitter words through press conferences rather we need to come together offer our hearts to God and seek guidance this can only be done if we swallow our pride for once and prioritize interests of poor Malawians," said the maverick preacher.

Commenting on recent political conundrums that have rocked the country, Khoviwa was upbeat that Malawi could come out of the challenges as long as the authorities sought wisdom from God.

He therefore urged Malawians to pray hard in order to move out of such difficulty and hard times.

Said he: "When God raises a king he brings a priest. The church is a priest to any government and is supposed to offer guidance to authorities.

"We need as a church to pray and offer spiritual guidance to this nation, anything less than that will be doomed."

Meanwhile, as part of efforts to find solution to some of the challenges Malawians are facing, the church  organized a two day long conference in Blantyre to create a platform where renowned men of God would pray for the nation so that it is delivered and cleansed completely.
