Two Mozambicans nabbed for murdering Malawian

Police in Mangochi have arrested two Mozambican nationals for allegedly killing 20-year-old Edson David, a bicycle taxi operator in Mangochi.

Mangochi Police spokesperson Rodrick Maida identified the two foreigners as 27-year-old Brown James Mujiwa of T/A Mindiyo, Mongwe district and Daves Kambolasi, 40, who hails from Milanje District.

He said the two are suspected to have murdered Edson on 2nd September this year by stabbing him and made away with his bicycle.

Said Maida: "The deceased was stabbed near the ribs and his body was identified by a fellow bicycle taxi operator. Postmortem conducted at Mangochi hospital indicated that he died due to loss of blood."

Late Edson,  who hailed from Chesani village, TA Kalembo in Balaka District, was stabbed as he went about ferrying people from different drinking joints to their homes. And on this day he had been hired by an unknown person from Club 700 drinking joint.

The police spokesperson said the two suspects were arrested after Edson's bicycle was found in their custody.
