Ahh you made me cry a little. Congratulations on your little space, may it continue to give you inspiration with memories of those you love. I think it is just wonderful.

A note on typewriters. My son did his degree in the same department I had done mine. He phoned me one day to say he had found a copy of my final year thesis in the little library there, and I said I was not surprised. However, he paused and drew a deep breath and said with awe “It is on carbon paper!”. Well, yes, that is the only way we had to make copies in those days! I still have that little portable typewriter that was a gift from my parents when I started University – leaving home with nothing else but two suitcases and that little machine. My daughter used it for fun for a few years, but my hands now object to the heavy touch of a typewriter; and I must admit I like the easy correcting/editing function that a computer provides. Using tippex on three layers of carbon paper to correct a typo is just not fun – neither is typing out a whole new page because you decide to change a phrase.

But that is what we did!!!!
